Inauguration event for the sculpture Vingekraft, honoring women in the Danish resistance during World War II. Open to everyone, 8 October 2026 at 16:30 on Strandpromenaden by Vikingeklubben in Sønderborg. Attend by showing up. Speeches by local officials and the artist, followed by communal singing and an artistic conclusion. Context: The sculpture is inspired by the resistance woman Johanne Hansen, who ran the Housekeeping School in Vollerup, and will stand as a lasting memorial to the many women who contributed to the fight for Denmark's freedom. Note: The project is realized with support from the Agency for Culture and Palaces as part of the marking of the 80th anniversary of Denmark's liberation. You can browse the artist's page linked down below, it's interesting that the art stems from the ear, and her works connects sound, light, art and music, using sound as a "chisel" to sculpt.
