About

Lecture on quantum physics and quantum computers with live streaming from Aarhus University. Open to everyone, 20 October 2026 at 18:45 in Gråsten Library. Drop in to participate.

About the lecturer

Klaus Mølmer is a professor of quantum physics at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen. His research focuses on quantum physics and quantum technologies.

Background

Both in Denmark and internationally, large sums of money have been invested since the 1990s in the race to develop and utilise quantum computers that use atomic quantum states to calculate many numbers at the same time. In the lecture, you will hear how far along we are in the construction of quantum computers and what they will be able to do when they are fully functional.
