About the band
Pil is the Danish singer who has just been announced as this year’s opening act on Roskilde Festival’s Orange Stage and will soon appear on screen in the TV2 hit Toppen af Poppen. She releases her third studio album before summer 2026 and embarks on a major autumn tour.
Background
Pil announces her new single ‘Cyklen’, a song about falling in love and the vulnerability of revealing one’s feelings. The single invites both communal singing and emotional release. Pil describes writing the song from a specific memory of a date in Assistens Cemetery in Copenhagen, where she saw a man with his bicycle. The chorus asks: / Do you want to / Do you want to stay here until everyone else has left / Just a little longer /. Pil’s new album, her third, will be released before summer 2026, following her first two albums ‘Kom Vi Flyver Siger Du’ (2022) and ‘Hvis Du Tør At Drømme’ (2024).
Why take part?
I’ve really felt all my emotions along the way during this album process. When I look back, I’ve been both angry, happy, frustrated, disappointed and hopeful while writing these songs – and suddenly it was an album. Phew, I’d really be a wreck if I couldn’t get all my thoughts out this way. That’s why I’m also really looking forward to the songs reaching someone’s ears, because it usually confirms to me that I’m not the only one who sometimes floats around in all these feelings,” Pil says.
