About the person

Guy Davis is a living legend in blues, folk and americana – a truly unique artist with global success and recognition. He has been nominated for two Grammy Awards in the USA and has shared the stage with iconic names such as Bruce Springsteen, Chuck Berry, Don McLean, Pete Seeger, John Denver and B.B. King. He has also had the honour of performing for Queen Elizabeth II in Royal Albert Hall and twice for Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II. Over the years, Davis has thrilled audiences at venues and festivals around the world – including Tønder Festival, where he has performed four times. Davis grew up in New York in the 1950s and 60s as the son of the famous actors and prominent civil rights activists Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee. In addition to his music career, he is also an award-winning actor, composer and teacher.
