About the lecturer
The conductor is Severin Korsgaard. The musicians are Helene Blum (vocals and violin), Harald Haugaard (violin), Kirstine Elise Pedersen (cello), Mattias Pérez (guitars), Sune Rahbek (percussion), and Martin Nørbæk (sound). The composers are Helene Blum and Harald Haugaard. The project is organised by Kor72, a nationwide choral organisation for adult amateur choirs with around 10,000 members.
Background
The concert premieres the new choral work "Lykkens skib" by Helene Blum and Harald Haugaard, written for Kor72. The work is a song cycle inspired by Johannes V. Jensen’s novel "Kongens Fald", with texts partly borrowed from the novel and partly newly written by Christian Juncker. The performance is a suite of 11 choral movements accompanied by an ensemble, with Helene Blum as vocal soloist. The music is described as catchy and danceable. The choir consists of around 150 choristers from South Jutland and other parts of the country. The concert lasts about an hour and has no intermission.
Why take part?
Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to experience the sound of a giant choir and musicians who, through the music, "tell" the story of Kongens fald, which was set in Sønderborg.
