About the author

Rasmus Nielsen is the author of the popular novel series 'The Sønderjysk Nurse'. He was inspired by his great-grandmother’s life when writing the series, which follows Caroline from Sønderborg in the time leading up to the reunification in 1920. The series paints a vivid portrait of a time marked by war and major societal changes. Rasmus Nielsen holds a cand.mag. in literary studies, made his debut in 2025 with the novel 'Lette bølge når du blåner', and has a background as a cultural communicator, editor and radio producer.

Background

The author talk will cover the work on the novels, whose story begins in 1912, when the young Caroline still lives at home. The narrative takes her to Copenhagen and London and further into a world marked by both hope and war.
