Baggrund
This special Vin & Vinyl evening takes you all the way through Lou Reed’s musical universe – from the early, raw years to the later, more contemplative expressions. Along the way there will be music, concert clips, interviews and readings of lyrics and poems. Fifteen years after his death, Lou Reed still stands as one of the most influential figures in modern rock history. In the mid-1960s he formed the legendary The Velvet Underground with John Cale, and after the band’s break-up around 1970 followed a solo career with both major masterpieces and outright flops. Reed manages to be raw and lyrical at the same time. In his musical universe you find both avant-garde and clear roots in the classic rock ’n’ roll of the 1950s – or as he himself sings: Deep down inside I got a rock’n’roll heart. His musical roots range from classical to progressive rock and include a long-standing love for Lou Reed.
