Om foredragsholderen
Michael Nobel Hviid, researcher at the Danish National Archives in Aabenraa, focuses on the worst storm surge disasters of the past 400 years and discusses how residents and authorities have tried to manage the risks.
Baggrund
The lecture explores how storm surges have shaped life along the Wadden Sea coast, where violent surges have long been a fact of life. It also addresses the debate on whether Denmark’s coastal areas are ready for a future with climate change and rising sea levels.
